Brunch at Wildberry - quite famous in Chicago, and known for their fresh, local ingredients. Top: a fluffy Fresca omelette - made with olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, provolone, and huge slices of avocado.

Bottom: Napa Valley Fig omelette - with fresh pieces of fig, Applewood bacon, and cheese, and paired with crispy fried hash browns.

I find myself repeatedly ordering different variations of eggs benedict…The toasted English muffin soaked in creamy Hollandaise sauce and the rich yolk from lightly poached eggs is my perfect idea of brunch — more petite than most brunch items (which I like; prevents myself from over-indulging into a food coma), savory but without all the grease, and definitely not something like eggs and toast that I could make at home.

Couldn’t decide between getting froyo or coffee, so I just got both.
The coffee tasted more Asian than European - not too big of a fan. But the froyo was delicious - half Soy half Green tea, and they piled on that one topping!

Bruschetta with a rich, creamy portobello mushroom, goat cheese, and olive oil spread. Paired with a refreshing side of lightly-fried asparagus, dusted with Parmesan cheese and crowned with an egg.

For all you sashimi lovers out there - Musashi in Wallingford is a hidden gem. This entire heaping bowl of fresh sashimi was only $15!

And after you’ve stuffed yourself with fish, you can mosey over to the famous Molly Moon’s (2 min away) for some heavenly homemade ice cream, with unique flavors like Earl Grey, Honey Lavender, Stumptown Coffee, Maple Walnut, and Balsamic Strawberry.

Commence blissful food coma.

Homemade healthy sushi with brown rice, avocado, egg, and smoked salmon or tuna (first attempt by me and my friends - tasted better than it looks!).

A hot, foamy Cubano latte to start the day, mmm.
Didn’t know what it was before hearing someone order it off the “secret menu” at Cafe Migliore in downtown Seattle. It’s a way of making espresso in Cuba, after espresso machines were first imported there from Italy. The espresso shot is infused with brown sugar and cinnamon (at least, that’s how this cafe makes it) as it is being brewed, resulting in a creamier, sweeter shot with an undertone of caramel.

Decided to be healthy this week, so I ordered a Multigrain boba. With reduced sugar.
Yeah…..don’t ever do that. Feels like I drank liquefied wheat germ.

The pictures make this look better than it tasted…the beef broth was too salty for my liking, but my udon craving was satisfied. Beef udon noodle soup from a little Korean cafe/bakery/restaurant in U-district.

First time in Chicago - of course I HAD to try deep dish pizza. This one had the perfect amount of cheese, with a satisfying layer of spinach and juicy tomatoes on top. We added pepperoni since sausages weren’t recommended - that would make it watery. Even the leftovers tasted fantastic when heated the next day.

The special of the night - herb-crusted halibut with potatoes and some type of green paste…forgot what it was. Not a particularly memorable dish; pretty good, but lacking a kick.

Cozy little bakery near the Armitage station in Chicago. The little brown muffins pictured (bran and flax, not chocolate) are phenomenal, and apparently pack lots of protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

Second time trying Mod Pizza - got the Ulysses (mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, gorgonzala, basil, garlic, and mushrooms) with grilled chicken. Never knew that you could add so many toppings with no extra cost! With a thick layer of veggies on a crispy, handmade-quality, freshly-baked crust, this pizza will not make you feel guilty at all.
